Stockholm, Sweden –

The mid-November Stockholm International Film Festival will strike a chord with any visitor to Sweden whose blood runs thick with a love for the performing arts. Directors, producers, and actors from every corner of the globe come to see the emerging cinematic gems offered by tomorrow’s storytelling masters.

At the Stockholm Globe Arena, you can enjoy the annual late autumn International Horse Show. Everything from ponies to Ardennes horses will entertain and amaze audiences. You’ll find yourself popping out of your seat as you’re carried away by equestrian fever along with thousands from around Europe and the world.

Runners will love the 26.2 mile course during the June Stockholm Marathon. Imagine combining athleticism with tourism – it’s a perfect marriage and one you’ll never forget!

Gothenburg, Sweden –

In Gothenburg, the Christmas spirit is alive with the lighting of a gigantic tree in the Gustaf Adolfs Torg main square. Delight in a plethora of holiday markets in such neighborhoods as Kronhuset and Haga Old Town.

Gothenburg also offers the European Athletics Championships in August. There, you’ll be certain to note the presence of superstars. During this late summer traditional event, the Goteborgskalaset, a huge festival with events throughout the second-largest city in Sweden, also takes place.

Finally, if you’re visiting Sweden at the beginning of springtime, why not schedule your vacation or business excursion around Walpurgis Eve, honored throughout this Nordic paradise with chorales, fireworks, bonfires, museum exhibitions, and other unique celebrations.
