Where to Go for Your Swedish Adventure
What would a journey to Sweden be without visiting some of the “hotter” cities? Here, we’ll check out which ones will make you say “Ja” (aka, “yes”)!
First and foremost, there’s Stockholm, the capital of this Norse kingdom. Bustling and modern, Stockholm boasts any number of tourist attractions, including a trip to Birka, the oldest settlement (now in ruins), which can only be accessed via boat. History abounds in this city of about three-quarters of a million people; visit the Royal Palace Drottningholm, the Gamla Stan (“Old Town”), the Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts, the Royal Dramatic Theatre, or the Royal Swedish Opera.

Another popular tourist hotspot in Sweden is the city of Gothenburg (Gotesburg).
With a number of universities, Gothenburg is quite trendy and boasts some fine attractions. If you’re into architecture, a simple stroll around the streets on Masthuggest Hill will take you back in time to a much earlier period. |

Near the North Sea, the eateries in this second-largest city of Sweden will wow you with fresh catches of the day. Finally, you can round out your Gothenburg adventure with a relaxing trip to one of the many parks or gardens.
Malmo, the third largest city in Sweden, houses only around a quarter million inhabitants, but that’s great for tourists who enjoy visiting big towns with small town charm and hospitality. Located in the southwest corner of the country, the climate is fairly mild in the summer, though not hot (it averages in the 50s Fahrenheit.) This makes for perfect weather to sightsee! Enjoy a trip to the Rooseum center for Contemporary Art or venture to St. Per’s Church, a 13th century wonder. If you don’t need a super-warm day to bathe, take a dip in the Bigersborg beach with the locals.
Regardless of where you decide to stay while in Sweden, you’re sure to come away from your experience with amazing stories and fabulous memories.
