Travel Tips - Getting Around in Sweden

Unless you’re planning to stay in one spot during your vacation to Sweden, you’ll need to use some form of transportation. Here, we’ll explore the best ways to get around this delightful, charming Scandinavian country.

Rail Service
Sweden’s rail service is fast, efficient, and affordable. Trains run on time and cars are modern and comfy; they are also very safe and often used by locals. Like other parts of Europe, hopping on a train is a common occurrence for Swedes.

Highways
Unlike in the States or other nations, there aren’t a ton of autos clogging up the highways. Thus, if you decide to tour Sweden via car or bus tour, you won’t have to deal with heavy traffic.

(However, Swedish authorities do caution visitors to check for wildlife crossing the roads, especially in rural areas.)

Airplane Travel
Sweden is a little bigger than the state of California. Therefore, many people travel using the airlines. Even some of the smaller towns have airports, so don’t hesitate to look into the possibility of touring the country by “jet setting” from north or south or vice versa.

Boats
With many rivers and canals, you may just find that traveling by boat is the way to make the most of your vacation to Sweden. Again, the ship operators are efficient and reasonably priced.

Depending on your itinerary, you may find yourself using one or all of these travel methods. But rest assured that no matter which you choose, you’ll have a comfortable experience getting from point “A” to point “B”.
